Is it really necessary to bathe daily? Here’s what the expect says
Are you the type of person who hates taking a shower daily and is looking for a reliable stamp of approval to support your decision not to bathe? You’ve got it. Experts claim that having a daily shower has not shown health benefits.
“Why are we washing? Mostly because we’re afraid somebody else will tell us that we’re smelling,” environmentalist Donnachadh McCarthy stated to the BBC.
McCarthy, the author of the book “Prostitute State,” claims that he bathes once a month to help the environment. He states that his inspiration came from two weeks spent in the Amazon among the indigenous Yanomami people.
McCarthy stated that he prefers to wash at the sink, scrubbing his body with a cloth.
Dr. Julie Russak, a Manhattan dermatologist, recently told The New York Post that long, daily showers might remove the “skin’s microbiome,” which protects the skin and is “also extremely important in the overall health of the body.”
David Whitlok, a chemist, said that he had not had a shower in twelve years. “Tell anyone who mocks you that they are betraying profound ignorance of the skin microbiome, and then walk away,” David Whitlock said to the Vice.
