1. Add some water to a boil in a pot. Add the miso paste and well stir once it boils. To the pan, add the sliced chicken, soy sauce, shiitake mushrooms, ginger and garlic. Mix well and cook for 10 to 12 minutes.
2. Now stir the cabbage into the soup. After cooking the chicken for a further five minutes to ensure it’s done, take the saucepan off of the flame.
3. Spoon the soup into individual bowls, top with a tablespoon of finely chopped spring onions and serve.
