Here’s how to make Palak Biryani at home

1. To make this simple biryani, wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes. Then, pressure cook the rice with cups of water and a little bit of salt. Meanwhile, properly wash the spinach with water. Now slice them up and set them aside in a different bowl. Rinse the coriander and mint leaves as well. Now, in a blender, mix the cut spinach leaves, mint and coriander. Make it into a smooth paste.

2. In a large pan, melt ghee over medium heat. Once heated, add the ginger and garlic paste, cinnamon sticks, green and black cardamoms, cloves, bay leaves, mace, red chili powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and coriander powder. Saute by constantly stirring the items in the pan.

3. Add the paste you made in the first step to the same pan now. Stir well over a medium heat. Now check for the rice. Add them to the pan as well, if ready, and stir thoroughly. Now sprinkle it with some salt.

4. Pour a small amount of water into the pan and place a lid on it. For five to ten minutes, boil it over medium heat so the rice absorbs the water and spices. Remove the cover; your palak biryani is now ready.
