5 things you should never consume with tea

Tea is a vital part of Indian food, and tea lovers consume it year-round. It is frequently enjoyed with bread, biscuits, namkeen, samosas, pakoras/bhajiyas and some sweets. However, did you know that some of these foods may be harmful to your health? Although there aren’t any strict rules about what foods go well or poorly with tea, there are some basic guidelines that might help you enjoy your tea more.

Here are 5 things you should never consume with tea

1. Curd

Among the items you should not eat or drink with tea is curd. Your health could be impacted if you drink tea with curd or anything produced from curd. Since curd is regarded as a cold food and tea is hot, it is best to avoid having it with tea.

2. Fruit Salad

Fruit tea or fruit salad is one item that should never be consumed with tea. The combination of fruits and tea causes acidity. However, dried fruits can be enjoyed as a snack.

3. Sweet foods

Although the taste of tea may be enhanced by sweet foods like cakes, cookies and chocolate, eating too much sugar can raise blood sugar levels, which can result in energy crashes and other health problems.

4. Green vegetables

Green vegetables are rich in iron, yet tea has oxalates and tannins that prevent iron from being absorbed properly. That is why green veggies are not served alongside tea.

5. Turmeric

Turmeric, which has several medicinal uses, has numerous health benefits when consumed. However, consuming turmeric or products produced from it along with tea has a negative impact on the body.
