How much water should you drink a day? Expert explains

There is no doubt that the body needs a large amount of water, and a shortage of water causes a variety of health problems. Drinking plenty of water is essential for eliminating toxins from the body, maintaining excellent gut health, keeping normal body temperature and protecting sensitive tissues. Dehydration is an issue caused by not drinking enough water, particularly on hot summer days. Due to dehydration, darkness appears before the eyes, energy levels drop, and it appears that there is no strength left in the body to do any tasks. In such cases, it is critical to drink enough water throughout the day to meet the body’s needs.

A person normally assumes how much water he should drink each day by looking at water requirement charts based on weight. However, Dr. Bhavesh Gupta has a different perspective. Dr. Bhavesh Gupta is a nutritionist and member of the Indian Dietetic Association. According to Dr. Bhavesh, one cannot rely just on the chart to meet water requirements.

According to Dr. Bhavesh, a person’s daily water intake is determined by their body weight, physical activity, temperature and humidity levels. Aside from that, we include various water-rich foods in our diets, such as fruits, vegetables, legumes and grains. That is why one should continue to drink water anytime they feel thirsty, this is the body’s signal.

Dr. Bhavesh said that many individuals start drinking more water than they need, which can lead to a variety of health problems and raise the danger of water intoxication. This disrupts the electrolyte balance in the body, requiring frequent toilet visits.
