Is your honey pure? Here is how to test the purity at home

Honey is included in the diet in many ways. Honey is high in anti-inflammatory qualities and offers several health benefits. Honey is often consumed on its own, but it is also regarded as a better option for sugar. However, instead of real honey, fake honey is being provided in the market. Like other foods, fake honey has a harmful impact on health. In such cases, it is critical to differentiate between real and fake honey.

Here is how to test the purity at home

1. The Thumb test

Put a tiny bit of honey on your thumb and see whether it spills like regular liquid—if it does, your honey isn’t real. Honey is not meant to drop, it should be thick.

2. Water Test

Put a spoonful of honey in a glass of water; if the honey dissolves in the water, it is not real. The thick texture of pure honey causes it to sink to the bottom of glasses or cups.

3. Vinegar Test

Mix a couple of drops of honey with vinegar water, if the mixture foams, your honey is fake.

4. Fire Test

Honey doesn’t burn. Light a matchstick that has been dipped in honey to try the fire test. If it burns, it means your honey is fake.
