What is the right age to send children to the gym?

Going to the gym has become more of a trend than a need these days. Apart from going to the gym on their own, a person also makes an effort to encourage others in his area to join as well. Even youngsters have a desire to go to the gym from a young age to achieve the physique of their favourite hero-heroine. Going to the gym before the right time can have both physical and mental effects on youngsters.

These days, kids often start going to the gym once they are 14 or 15 years old, and many of them start requesting to go at the age of 11 or 12. However, the ideal age for sending youngsters to the gym is between 17 and 18 years. This is because children’s bodies undergo several changes during puberty and their bodies are not yet completely developed for the gym. Children, on the other hand, can handle gym pressure after they reach adulthood. Children’s muscles are not strong enough to handle hard exercises and gym equipment at such a young age.

Going to the gym may have an impact on young children’s minds as well as their bodies. If overweight children are sent to the gym at a young age, they might feel pressure to lose weight. It might take several months of gym time to lose weight. Going to the gym every day and feeling like we’re not becoming fit might have an impact on kids in this kind of situation. They can feel anxiety, depression or despair.
